I was quite surprised on Saturday afternoon to receive an email from the hosting company where my movie blog, Movie Riot, resides that my hosting has been suspended. To add to my dismay, they gave no reason. I have appealed to them with no response. Obviously they have no intention of giving me any reason for the suspension or reversing their decision which leaves me with no other choice than to move the blog to a different service.
Considering all the feedback I have gotten over my blog being down, which means none, it apparently comes just as much of surprise to some that I have a movie blog. :p
It will take a few days to get the blog back up and running in full. I have backups of the database and posts, but I don’t have the images file structure for the posts and will have to rebuild that. This also means that use of the old subdomain will be lost, so those who are still posting the old subdomain links to reviews rather than the newer domain links will be posting dead links, so please don’t do that.
My Movie Riot blog had an uptick of activity with me reviewing some independent films and doing interviews with the director and actress of one of those films. To make it easier to both remember the address of the blog and to find it in a search, I registered MovieRiot.Org as a domain; now that’s all you need to get there instead of the longer and more difficult to remember subdomain address.

I know some people who like to think writing is not work, but sit any of them down and tell them to write 5000 words on anything at all and it must be spelled correctly and follow the rules of grammar (meaning to actually paragraph it rather than write everything into one long paragraph), and they’ll be in tears within the hour, and I didn’t even mention about it needing to be entertaining or make sense.
I am working on several projects. I have a few books to finish; some are mostly finished and just need to be wrapped up or cleaned up. I am also working on my magazine, a free online magazine in pdf format which deals with exploitation movies and erotica.
But that first part about getting a few books finished is the most pressing task. I hope to have at least two books on my Smashwords page within the next few weeks. After that I will concentrate on a third book and the magazine.
Although I have a personal blog and a website (just a static HTML site) on my own domain, I guess the saying When in Rome applies here, and in this case the internet is Rome and having a WordPress.com blog is almost a standard if you spend much time on the internet and have something to say.
As for myself, my name is Dan Jarron and I am a writer, more specifically I write erotica. I will post links to my other sites on here as well my social media pages. I’ll update this hopefully real soon.
